Fringe Croakies

The recent craze on decorative contact lenses has taken the country by storm. But the ever prosaic glasses are giving contacts a run for their money as retro looks make a return.

Anyway, if you wear glasses on a daily basis like me, I'm sure you find it distracting sometimes to have your pair perpetually perched on your nose's bridge. (Oh, that's just me?) After seeing a DIY on RunwayDIY.com, I tried my hand at making a pair of fab croakies.

Croakies: A band you can attach to the sides of your glasses so you can let 'em hang down your neck.

Pretty convenient huh?

I figured, if I need to wear glasses now, might as well be stylish about it!

The RunwayDIY version uses bands and fringe only. I tried that one but it didn't exactly look good on me. It looked cool on her photo, but when I wore it, I felt like an Amerindian-wannabe.

Since I had a few meters of chain, I experimented with making a chain+fringe combo, and it worked. It's like having croakies AND a necklace.

You can wear your fringe croakies at the office or around the beach. If you're interested in having a pair made to order, send me a message and let's talk! :)

Avengers Makeup

If there's one element of style I'm an ignoramus about, it would be makeup. Yep, even as I walk the halls of a corporate world, I am a total makeup klutz. From a task as simple as putting on powder, to the more artful act of applying eyeshadow, I'm completely clueless. I use makeup, but not correctly. When I stumbled on this awesome eyeshadow artworks (that's what they are!) using the Avengers as a peg however, I was suddenly all eyes.

The looks were made by the awesome Jangsara. Visit her blog for the step-by-step post for each look at jangsara.blogspot.com. My top three would be Iron Man, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Which one is your favorite? :)

Outfit Post: Nautical Swimwear

My friends and I went to Anawangin Cove and Capones Island in Zambales last weekend. Both places were beautiful! Perfect for photoshoots. ;) I brought along my new Nudo Swimwear maillot I told you about last time here.  My new nude wayfarers from What a Girl Wants also arrived in time!

The first time I tried on the swimsuit at home, I wasn't thrilled. But with the navy shorts and wayfarers, I dare say it looked just fine on me. Make that adorable. :)

Have you rocked your new swimsuits this summer? I'd love to see them! Post your links or lookbooks below. :)

Love,

P.S.

Nudo Swimwear PH has a new collection. And yes, I want another piece!
What a Girl Wants both sells apparel and accessories, online and in stores. They ship internationally. :)

Outfit Post: The Looks of Summer

First outfit post! It's not that special, actually. I just wanted to share my first summer look. :) Boho chic! The bohemian long-sleeved cover-up is from Sewn, a small local apparel brand. I love the color and the pattern. It had an undone stitch at the side when I tried it on, but it was too pretty to let go. Besides, I can sew a bit ya know? *wink*

Aviators and wooden bead bracelet add oomph

What are your looks for the summer? I'd like to see!

Love,

P. S. I'm wearing a black Soak St. Bart's Maillot underneath.
